Military Service, War of 1812, Mossy Creek, Jefferson Co, TN Willis volunteered on 15 Aug 1812 at Mossy Creek (now Jefferson City), Jefferson Co, TN for service in Captain Langham's Company of the 24th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army during the War of 1812. His company was marched to Nashville, where he enlisted for five years or for the duration of the war. He was shown as a private in Captain Langham's Company at Fort Hall on 27 Jun 1813, at Fort Meigs on 21 Aug 1813. He died at Fort Seneca on 06 Oct 1813, while in Captain Campbell's Company.
